A.P.E.Research (Applied Physics and Engineering Research) is an high tech company specialised in the production of advanced instrumentation in the field of NanoTechnologies: Scanning Probe Microscopes (SPM) and high resolution nanopositioning systems.
For these instruments our company is able to offer complete customization according to the sector in which these are to be used. This type of instrumentation addresses advanced users, such as Universities and Research centres in several fields and disciplines: Material Science, Surface Science, Biology, Chemistry, Medicine. The technological core business of A.P.E. Research is the development and production of SPM Microscopes like AFM, STM, SNOM. SPM microscopes are a class of instruments able to reconstruct the sub micrometric 3D morphology of sample surface, until distinguish the arrangement of the single molecules and atoms.
All these instruments find application in advanced industrial and academic research. Fields are: biology (cell and tissue analysis), biomedical (biomedical prosthesis characterization), micro- and nano- lectronics, bio-tech, catalyst chemistry, precision mechanics, manufacturing of composite materials, photovoltaic, pharmaceutical, IT, polymer chemistry, telecommunications, alloy production for various applications (fashion, nautical, aeronaval, …) and food.

What we are looking for

Utilizing our technologies, we had improved the technical characteristics of the latest AFM, making it more affordable for researchers. This would enable more and more researchers to perform advance research studies, favouring the growing demand for SPM products.
To obtain innovative solutions for future SPM instruments built around new and innovative solutions and to explore new markets we are looking for:
a) Research centers, Universities, industries to develop collaborations and R&D projects (ex.H2020, INTERREG, etc.) using our technologies.

MEASUREMENT SERVICES
The company has its own laboratory, BioNanolab, for measurements and research activities; it is also involved in various Italian, European and international research projects with research institutes and universities for the development of new scanning probe microscopes and innovative techniques for microscopy.

BioNanolab is aimed at research groups in the academic world and at that part of the manufacturing sector that bases its competitiveness on technical-scientific innovation. It provides state-of-the-art tools and skills and supports the experimentation of new technologies useful for fueling the research and development process of products and production processes.
